The FC project 1000 Islands - Rural Electrification through Renewable Energies, Phase II promotes the expansion of renewable energies in remote rural areas of Indonesia in order to contribute to a sustainable, reliable and comprehensive electricity supply. The second phase of the program focuses on the expansion of small hydropower capacities with the aim of achieving a climate- and environmentally-friendly improvement in the electricity supply in the remote target regions. The project sponsor and borrower is the state-owned energy supplier PT.PLN. The total costs of EUR 150 million are to be covered by an FC development loan of EUR 115 million.
