Description | SoftBank, in partnership with the U.S. Department of Energy and AEP Ohio, is redeveloping federal land at the Portsmouth Site in Pike County, Ohio, into a 10-gigawatt data center campus supported by an equivalent amount of new power generation. The project includes building 10 GW of capacity, primarily from natural gas plants, alongside transmission upgrades across southern Ohio. The data center portion alone could require between $30 billion and $40 billion in investment, with the power buildout totaling more than $33 billion. Construction is slated to begin later in 2026. |
