Description | Eleven under-construction high-rise buildings in Kolkata received approval to resume full-fledged construction after a high-powered committee conducted an audit and cleared them. The committee was set up following the Taratala warehouse collapse and inspected 344 projects, with 136 sites inspected so far. Work remains suspended at 125 other sites due to labour issues and use of deep tube wells for water supply. Developers are required to comply with labour department registration and ensure labour contractors meet PF and other obligations. Water supply issues are also being addressed to avoid project delays. |
