The project will be spread across three key grid substations: Bhagalpur, Udakishanganj, and Sitamarhi, with 40 MWh capacity at each site. It will be built under the BOOT model (Build, Own, Operate, and Transfer) and is scheduled to be fully operational within 18 months from the effective date of the Battery Energy Storage Purchase Agreement (BESPA). This initiative aims to improve power reliability, manage demand fluctuations, and ensure better quality electricity supply during peak periods as part of a broader plan to install 500 MWh of battery storage capacity across Bihar. |
