Description

Description

This project is part of the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission launched in 2010 aimed to generate 20 GW of power by 2022. Rajasthan’s Dhursar village hosts Asia's largest Concentrated Solar Power Plant, spread over 700 acres that uses the concept of reflecting solar radiation onto water pipes (to turn the water into steam) to drive turbines that generate power. The peak output of the plant stands at 125 MWp. Completed in 3 years, the economic solar technology of Compact Linear Fresnel Reflector system is used. The assignment involved structural installation, critical piping across 19 km, welding works, fixing of delicate mirrors and the erection of 35 SSGs that converts water into steam, each to be placed at a precise height of 30 m with each SSG weighing close to 150 T and measures up to 570 m, consisting of 25 tower lines and 792 reflectors.
