Economic/Social Impact of the Project The project was appraised by PFC, the Lead Lender of the Consortium consisting of 12 Lenders including SBI. The project achieved Financial Closure in September 2010. The project is to be funded by debt of Rs.4,927 Crores and equity of Rs.1,643 Crores in the debt-equity ratio of 3 is to 1. Due to suspension order of MOEF and local disturbances, the project implementation got delayed by around 18 months which has resulted in cost over-run of Rs.1,960 Crores. From mid-March, 2013 construction activities at project site have resumed. The company has approached lenders for appraisal/approval of the revised project schedule & cost, which is expected to take around 4 to 5 month’s time. In the interim, to keep up the project construction activities, the company has requested Lenders’ Consortium for disbursements pending appraisal of revised schedule and cost.
