14th and 15th Beldocs International Documentary Film Festival

Devoted to offering a platform for and actively supporting European non-fiction cinema, Beldocs International Documentary Film Festival (Belgrade) has always sought to inspire the strong relations between films, their authors and the audiences and among other players in the industry chain. Thus, as a Festival meeting point, Beldocs is recognized as the place for best national, European and world creative documentaries, that gives a comprehensive overview of the recent worldwide documentary production, discovers, and reveals the new voices and on the other side strengthens, develops, and supports the industry of the region. The 14th edition of the Beldocs IDFF was held in September 2021 and 15th edition is planned for May 2022 in hybrid format which combines screenings outdoor, indoor, online and TV. We envision screenings of contemporary and classical international documentaries in 4 competitions (International, National, Teen, Short) and in 14 non-competitive programs (Fireworks, Meteors, Breeze, Front Page, Prime Time, Beldocs Special, Profile, Landscape, Country in Focus, two retrospectives, Thessaloniki in Belgrade, Special Screenings, VR Exhibition). Festival guests will participate in specialized discussions and Q&A`s and will have an opportunity to meet European and regional industry players. Additional programs will consist of broad film literacy activities and Beldocs Industry - Beldocs Market, Beldocs in Progress, Serbian Docs in Progress, Master Classes, Beldocs Academy, Docs for Kids & Youth. Beldocs is persistent in its general ambition to continuously grow and professionalize the festival especially in terms of successfully adopted digital transformation processes. Also, Beldocs is committed to create the official network of European festivals, to continuously develop fruitful connections between films, talents and audience and to apply digital mechanisms and tools to rebuild and significantly increase the scale of the audience and to target non-attendees.
