19-storey waterfront apartment tower at 5 Lower Union Street

approved

A planned 19-storey residential apartment building on a small vacant lot next to the Great Lakes Museum and the S.S. Keewatin in Kingston's waterfront. The project includes a three-level parking podium with at-grade commercial space and 16 floors of residential units, totaling 118 homes with various unit types. The building footprint was reduced and reshaped to be taller and slender, with more open space and fewer parking spaces. The development includes a three-metre-wide pedestrian pathway around the shoreline and public access to the waterfront trail. The site is a brownfield and qualifies for municipal tax incentives for cleanup.
