Description | The Energy Commission of Nigeria has initiated a 1-megawatt solar hybrid power system project at Bayero University, Kano. This project aims to provide a sustainable and reliable electricity alternative for the university's population of over 40,000 students and staff. The system uses advanced solar panels designed to operate efficiently under shade and dusty conditions typical of Northern Nigeria. It includes smart monitoring and centralized architecture for easier maintenance. This is the first phase, with plans to expand to a 4.5MW array to make the university a major green-energy hub in West Africa. |
