Description | State-owned QatarEnergy has selected Samsung C&T Corp to build a 2-GW solar project in Dukhan, Qatar. The project is expected to double the country’s solar power production capacity and advance QatarEnergy's 2030 renewable energy strategy. The Dukhan solar plant will be implemented in two phases of 1,000 MW each, equipped with a solar tracker system and inverters capable of operating in high-temperature environments. The first phase is expected to start feeding the Kahramaa grid towards the end of 2028, and the second phase is expected to be completed by mid-2029. |
