Description | The Dunleavy administration is planning to give away 20,000 acres of state land near Houston, Alaska, to the Alaska Industrial Development & Export Authority (AIDEA) at no charge. The land will be used for a proposed multi-use industrial and energy development district including data centers, a logistics hub, advanced manufacturing pads, gravel pits, and energy and utility hubs. The land will no longer be state-owned after the giveaway, and AIDEA will manage it as it sees fit. The Department of Natural Resources has released a preliminary decision to approve the giveaway and is accepting public comments until August 19, 2026. |
