Description

Description

This was a Safe Streets & Sidewalks levy-funded project., This project upgraded the crossings at multiple street segment locations in the City and installed American Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant curb ramps, accessible pedestrian signal (APS) systems, curbs and gutters, sidewalks, and signing., Under the Pavement Preservation Program, the City used the Pavement Condition Index to identify street segments that could benefit from an asphalt overlay and repairs. The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) requires that the City meet the most current accessibility requirements along each street segment to be paved, so the existing pedestrian crossings along these streets needed to be upgraded. In addition to the curb ramps associated with the Pavement Preservation Program, other projects identified by the Sidewalk Program were included in this project., Kamins Construction was awarded the contract for this project and construction was completed in summer 2019., The estimated cost of this project was $433,785.39. The project was funded by the Safe Streets and Sidewalks Levy and the City's Sidewalk Program.,
