• The project consists of the purchase of 32 conventional urban transit buses (40’ diesel) to replace current vehicles reaching the end of their 18 year useful life. • The purchase of the 32 conventional 40’ diesel buses and the installation of all additional equipment required for in-service use, will allow for continued and uninterrupted service, preventing approximately 96,000 hours (approximately 2.2 million transit rides) of existing service from being cut. The new fleet will also allow Brampton Transit to maintain its current mean distance between failures (MDBF), the primary measure of bus reliability. • The project will result in improved capacity, quality and safety and access to the public infrastructure system in Brampton, Ontario.
