Project Description The Overlay Program is an annual program for rating, repairing, and resurfacing existing roadways. Installation of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant curb ramps has been incorporated into the annual Street Overlay and Arterial Rehabilitation programs according to new federal requirements. This program coordinates with the Arterial Rehabilitation Program (TIP#2). This program is managed between the by the Transportation Design Section, and the Maintenance Services Division of the Public Works Department. Overview Asphalt overlaying and slurry sealing streets provides for improved driving surface and are highly cost effective ways to avoid expensive repairs or reconstruction. The city Council desires pavement ratings within the City of Renton to have an Overall Combined Index (OCI) of 80 or better. Currently, the rating is 70. 2022 Overlay Program The 2022 Overlay Program has two active Projects: the 2022 Curb Ramps for Overlay, and the 2022 Overlay. 2022 Curb Ramps for Overlay: Project will upgrade sidewalk curb ramps for compliance with PROWAG Standards. Bid Opening was held on Aril 1, 2022. Apcon Tech, Inc. was the low bidder at $484,228.00. Construction to start June 29, 2022. Construction anticipated to be completed by September 8, 2022. 2022 Curb Ramps for Overlay: Neighborhood street preservation, and street paving. Bid Opening was held on July 7, 2022. CPM Development Corporation DBA ICON Materials was the low bidder at $853,488.00. Construction Contract is scheduled to be awarded on the regular Council Meeting 8, 2022.
