2023 Sidewalk Missing Links

Project funding would enable additional sidewalk links to be built in 2023 and augment active transportation connections for existing businesses and services. This project funding would be utilized for design and construction of sidewalk linkages to provide sidewalk connectivity through previously developed business and industrial areas. These additional active transportation linkages will be available sooner with the approval of this project. Strathcona County is undertaking a multi-year project to provide options to access existing service and employment areas with sidewalk links over time. The new infrastructure will allow employees to get to work by enabling transit use with safer infrastructure to reach businesses from existing transit stops. Once at work, these same networks foster healthy living by enabling physical activity on employment breaks. Our local business community is better served with this additional community amenity.
