Description | European Energy has begun construction on a 225.5 MW agrivoltaic plant near Vizzini in Sicily, Italy. This project is the largest agrivoltaic installation in Italy and one of the biggest in Europe, combining large-scale solar power production with agricultural activities such as sheep grazing and reforestation to support local biodiversity. The plant is expected to generate around 405 GWh of electricity annually, enough to power over 135,000 households, and benefits from secure long-term revenue through Italy's FER X Transitional Contract for Difference scheme. |
