24x7 Water Supply Pilot Project at Vinay Marg

New Delhi Municipal Council launched a 24x7 water supply pilot project at Vinay Marg to provide uninterrupted drinking water supply to residents. The project covers around 550 connections, mostly government quarters maintained by the Central Public Works Department. It includes minimizing water loss by identifying and plugging leaks, upgrading the distribution network, and optimizing supply management. A SCADA system will be installed for real-time monitoring and control. Modern VFD-based motor pump sets will be installed at the Vinay Marg boosting station along with IT-enabled instrumentation, automation systems, and data analytics to enhance monitoring, transparency, and accountability. Electrical improvements will be made to the existing pipeline network. The project was approved at a cost of about Rs 1.4 crore and is expected to be completed within five months. NDMC will also appoint a consultant to prepare a study and design for implementing 24x7 water supply across its jurisdiction.
