Description | Polish utility Polska Grupa Energetyczna (PGE) has begun construction of a 262-MW/981-MWh battery storage facility in Żarnowiec, northern Poland. The project is scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2027. The facility will be integrated with PGE's pumped storage power plant in Żarnowiec, creating a hybrid installation. LG Energy Solution's local unit was selected as the general contractor with a winning bid of PLN 1.555 billion (USD 428 million / EUR 365 million). The project has a connection agreement with the national power system and a 17-year capacity market contract from 2029. |
