Description | The 2Africa project is a landmark subsea cable system that directly connects East and West Africa in a continuous system, linking the continent to the Middle East, South Asia, and Europe. It has landings in more than 33 countries and aims to enable connectivity for 3 billion people. The system delivers a significant increase in international bandwidth for Africa and includes terrestrial connections in Egypt via two trans-Egypt routes adjacent to the Suez Canal. The project took nearly six years to complete across 50 jurisdictions and features advanced technology for flexible bandwidth management and increased cable burial depth for resilience. |
