Description | The main objectives of the Second Vocational Training Project are to improve the quality and expand the capacity of the vocational training system to meet the requirements for skilled and semi-skilled manpower in the industrial and rural sectors. The system will be expanded by: (a) re-equipping existing vocational training centers and introducing additional programs; (b) developing new vocational training centers in rural areas; and (c) strengthening the existing provincial apprenticeship system to expand in-plant training programs. The quality will be improved by: (a) expanding the National Training Development Institute to provide instructor training; and (b) further strengthening the management and project implementation capacity of the National and Provincial Training Boards. The project will also establish a pilot and experimental program of Women's Technical Training Centers. |
