Economic/Social Impact of the Project 2x600 MW Singhitarai Thermal Power Project is being developed by Athena Chhattisgarh Power Limited, an SPV formed for developing and implementing a coal based Thermal Power Project in Janjgir-Champa District in the State of Chhattisgarh. The project has obtained all the statutory clearances including Environmental clearance. As on date more than 50percentage of the physical works are completed. The boiler drum for unit 1 has already been erected and major equipment like Stator, Rotor has already reached the Indian Port. Firm Power sale agreements for more than one unit capacity executed. More than Rs. 2700 crs have been spent on the project. The project is financed by 18 banks and financial institutions and more than Rs. 2170 crs have been disbursed by the lenders so far. Update as of 01.05.2020- Project is stressed. Under construction and uncertain to come.
