30 years together – People in focus

This project is an international cooperation of the Municipalities of Zsámbék and Homoródszentmárton, based on a common will and intention, in which we would like to celebrate 30 years of cooperation between the two municipalities (cluster of municipalities). The two municipalities have been working together successfully for three decades now, in the first years without any agreement or paper, helping each other through difficult historical times, during the period of regime change in Eastern Europe. The two settlements are linked by many shared historical and historic memories, from the Árpád Era church, even in the 1990s, through the economic and social difficulties of Eastern Europe, to the recent epidemic period. The cooperation therefore goes back a long way, and, through the dedicated work of the partners, traditionalists, local organisations and NGOs, it has remained alive and active. In 2024, we will celebrate 30 years of twinning, which we would like to turn into a magical community programme for all to enjoy. To this end, we will be inviting nearly 100 local residents from both municipalities, representatives of NGOs and community institutions, town leaders and local residents to celebrate together at the municipalities' own celebrations, national holidays and town days with hundreds of local inhabitants at the same time. We have chosen four different direct target groups: - municipality leaders - cultural staff and cultural exchange on architectural treasures - NGOs and civil society members, locals - fire brigade organisations The specific objectives which have been recognized are the followings: 1. Work with each other in more level and with more stakeholders. 2. It is recommended to strengthen the partnership on cultural level more deeply. 3. There is existing cooperation which succeeds but we need to exploit the personal, governmental, recreation and learning opportunities 4. Deeper collaboration in architectural studies.
