300 MW Distributed PV Pilot Line in Germany

The PV PILOT project developed a roadmap for a 300 MW per year distributed pilot line for photovoltaic (PV) manufacturing in Germany. The project involved a consortium of research institutes, industry players, and machine builders, coordinated by RCT Solutions and funded by the German Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE). The pilot line aims to bridge the gap between lab research and industrial mass production, focusing on technologies like TOPCon and HJT, with future upgrades to IBC and Tandem cells. The distributed pilot line model uses existing research infrastructure and is considered the most feasible with lower capital and operational expenditures.
