Description | The 30MW Barrow Green Hydrogen Project in Cumbria is a renewable hydrogen production facility owned and delivered by Green Hydrogen Energy Company (GHECO), a joint venture between Schroders's renewables division Greencoat and Carlton Power. The project has reached Final Investment Decision and is one of the first renewable hydrogen projects to do so in the UK. It was initially developed by Carlton Power and secured a Low Carbon Hydrogen Agreement with the UK Government in June 2025. The project has a long-term PPA with SEFE and an industrial offtake agreement with Kimberly-Clark. |
