Description

The Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited (GSECL) has developed a 34 MW solar power project located at Chadavada in the Kutch district of Gujarat, India. The project was developed under a 2019 Government of Gujarat scheme to provide affordable renewable energy using wasteland near existing transmission infrastructure. It received a 50% capital subsidy from the state government to reduce costs. The project was awarded through competitive bidding to M/s. Kosol Energie Pvt Ltd with a contract value of about ₹220.14 crore, and the total project cost including additional expenses is around ₹236.80 crore. The plant started commercial operations on September 11, 2025, and GSECL signed a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) on January 31, 2026. The tariff for the power is to be approved by the Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission (GERC).
