Description | Rolls-Royce Holdings has been contracted to supply a 35.1 MW/144.4 MWh mtu EnergyPack battery system to support the operations of the 320-MW Zeewolde wind farm in the Netherlands. This is the second battery system for the repowered wind park, with the first 32.6-MW/65.2-MWh battery under construction and due online in summer 2025. The second battery is scheduled for commissioning in 2026 and will store excess electricity produced by the wind farm, feeding it back into the grid when needed. Rolls-Royce will oversee its operations for 10 years. The wind farm and battery sites are owned by more than 200 local farmers, residents, and entrepreneurs. |
