Created in 2000, 3B Group (the “Sponsor’’ or “3B’’) owns a network of hotels, camps and lodges with an aggregate of 120 guest rooms across Rwanda, which is comprised of: (i) a 30-room Flame Tree Village in Kigali; (ii) a 40-room Mountain Gorilla View Lodge near the Volcanoes National Park in the north of the country; (iii) a 20-room Kivu Lodge on the shores of the Lake Kivu; and (iv) a 30-room Akagera Safari Camp in the Lake District in Eastern Rwanda, which is currently under construction. IFC propose an investment of a loan package of up to $6m, comprising a $3m A loan and a $3m B loan (together, the IFC Loan) for the 3B Group to be used for 3B’s on-going expansion, which comprises:(i) the completion of a 30-room Akagera Safari Camp and (ii) the acquisition of the Nobilis Hotel, a 61-room hotel in Kigali (the “Project”). The expansion will enhance 3B’s value proposition and help the Group design and implement a high-quality ecotourism circuit package.
