Description

Description

Russia has offered India its 3M-14E Kalibr-PL submarine-launched cruise missile with a 1,500km range, which could significantly enhance the Indian Navy's submarine strike capabilities by enabling long-range land-attack missions from conventional submarines. The missile is compatible with existing 533mm torpedo tubes, allowing integration with India's current submarine fleet, including Sindhughosh-class and Kalvari-class submarines. This offer aims to bridge the capability gap until India's indigenous submarine-launched cruise missile system is operational, expected around 2028-2030.
