Description

Description

Serengeti Energy invests in and co-develops small and medium-sized renewable energy projects with a capacity of up to 50 MW. These projects span various lifecycle phases, including development, construction and operation, with a focus on the development phase. The overall objective is to provide electricity from renewable energy sources to support sustainable economic growth in sub-Saharan Africa. By prioritizing social, economic and environmental benefits, the projects developed are designed to increase the availability of affordable renewable energy across the region, minimize environmental impacts and empower local communities. Serengeti Energy's strategic vision is to position the company as the leading producer of electricity from renewable energy sources in sub-Saharan Africa. This makes the company an attractive investment opportunity for private investors. The collaboration extends to European Development Finance Institutions (DFIs) such as KfW, NDF, Norfund, STOA, Swedfund and Proparco as well as international investors, lenders, host governments and local companies. Compliance with international ESG guidelines ensures that their power plants generate renewable energy in a sustainable and cost-efficient manner, while reducing greenhouse gas emissions and environmental impacts.
