The 4EU+ Micro Credential Integration (4EUPlusMICI) project aims to support Europe’s digital and green transitions by developing a standardized and flexible micro-credential framework. This initiative aligns with EU policies to enhance employability, support economic transitions, and foster educational innovation. The project will create a Pan-European system for designing, issuing, and recognizing micro-credentials focused on digital and green skills, promoting employability, mobility, and entrepreneurship. The initiative will offer accessible courses for reskilling and upskilling, ensuring relevance through regular engagement with industry leaders to analyse labor market skills needs. By demonstrating the benefits of a unified micro-credential approach, the project supports EU commitments to digital inclusion and environmental sustainability. Effective stakeholder communication is crucial for widespread adoption. The project is organized into work packages led by different universities to ensure efficient delivery of its goals. Expected impacts include increased short-term awareness and uptake of micro-credentials, medium-term enhancement of employability through high-quality credentials, and long-term systemic change in European education, making micro-credentials a standard part of lifelong learning and workforce adaptability. To ensure sustainability, the project will integrate outcomes into national and regional education systems, share best practices, and align with EU policies for broader implementation in cooperation with national and regional public authorities.
