5-Km Tunnel Connecting Shiv Murti-Mahipalpur to Nelson Mandela Road

A 5-km-long tunnel project announced to decongest traffic across South Delhi and key routes into the NCR. The tunnel will link Shiv Murti-Mahipalpur near the Dwarka Expressway with Nelson Mandela Road in Vasant Kunj. It will feature two underground tubes with three lanes each, totaling six lanes, and will serve as a direct, signal-free corridor connecting South Delhi with Dwarka and Gurgaon. The project includes modern infrastructure such as electro-mechanical systems, ventilation, fire safety features, CCTV surveillance, control rooms, emergency exits, and cross-passages for safety and monitoring. It is part of a larger Rs 24,000-crore infrastructure package approved for Delhi.
