500 kV Celendín-Piura electrical transmission link project

The project involves the construction of a 500 kV electrical transmission link between Celendín-Piura in Peru.The 500 kV Celendín-Piura Link, along with its expansions and associated substations, will establish an alternative route for transmitting electrical energy between the Central and the far North regions of the country. It will originate from the Celendín 500 kV Substation, connecting it to the newly established Piura Nueva 500 kV Substation. In case of contingencies, energy will be redirected from the Piura Nueva 500 kV arrival substation to the connected 500 kV substations: La Niña and Trujillo. Additionally, this project will enhance reliability and augment transfers in the Peru-Ecuador 500 kV interconnection. The development will span the departments of Cajamarca, Amazonas, Lambayeque, and Piura.
