Description | Construction has started on a large solar farm near Grimsby, located between Aylesby and Healing. The solar farm will produce almost 50 megawatts (MW) of electricity, enough to power 27,000 homes. The project includes landscaping with trees, hedgerows, and wildflowers to increase biodiversity by 71%. Construction is expected to take up to nine months and the farm will be connected by cabling to a nearby substation. The developer, Aura Power, is also offering £20,000 annually to local community projects over the 35-year life of the solar farm. |
