The Project implements a 5G Private Mobile Network (MPN) to support new functional approaches to education and training in universities and hospitals, as well as the creation of a continuous care system. The project, which will run for 36 months (2023-2025), will develop the Mixed Reality (XR) Learning Platform, an articulated instrument that meets the needs of identifying and proposing new functional approaches in the educational and training domains. The platform will run on the implemented 5G MPN infrastructure, enabling immersive education experiences, anywhere and anytime, through AR (Augmented Reality) and real time, fluid collaboration made possible by 5G low latency and edge computing. 5G4ASSAC will run a use case in the Education sector, articulated into two cases respectively in the Health and Education domains to allow generating and collecting huge amounts of data, information, and insights to optimise both learning and training processes, besides providing solid basis for improving care methods. Overall, 5G4ASSAC aims at easing the shift towards a more inclusive society enabled by digital ecosystems. All end-users in the university environment (students, professors, researchers, etc.) and the community of patients suffering from severe chronic diseases in the cities of Palermo and Trapani will benefit from the positive impacts and results of the 5G4ASSAC project.
