Description | The project involves the auctioning of 5G spectrum bands in Pakistan to enable the rollout of 5G services. The auction framework report was submitted by the US-based consultancy firm National Economic Research Associates Inc. (NERA) to the Spectrum Advisory Committee (SAC). The report includes policy recommendations on auction design, base price, duration, and terms and conditions. The auction process is delayed due to litigation over the 2600MHz band and the merger of Telenor Pakistan with PTCL. The government aims to meet the auction deadline set for February 15, 2026. |
