The 2025 & 2026 FICX-GIJÓN FEST. project comprises 6 main activities: -The 63 & 64 Gijón International Film Festival (14-22 Nov 2025 & 13-21 Nov 2026) -The IX & X FICXPro Industry Days + IV & V SEMILLERU, (17-21 Nov 2025 & 16-20 Nov 2026) -FICXPlus (year-long events) -FICX For Kidz (year-long film literacy actions) -FICX.TV (digital contents, 1M+ views in 2024, +170% since 2022) -FICX the Networks! (European/national/regional/local networks) The FICX project is a FIAPF-specialized event qualifying for the U.S. and Spanish Academy Awards and belonging to the Europa Film Festivals (EFF) network. In 2024 our Festival surpassed pre-pandemic figures: 220 titles / 114,000+ spectators (in person + online, +11,5%) / €146.000+ (all-time box office record). European filmmaking is the cornerstone of the Festival activities, with 90% of European co-productions and 34 different MEDIA countries (30 low audiovisual capacity ones) in 2024. FICX prioritizes the work of renowned and upcoming continental talents, with special attention to peripheral countries, gender equality, inclusion and representativeness. Our festival has been visited by both great European names and upcoming talents recently and personalities such as Louis Garrel, Isabella Rossellini or Mads Mikkelsen are expected to attend the Festival in 2025. 2025 will see our IX FICX Pro industry days (attended by representatives of Locarno, VIENNALE, Luxembourg or London IFF in 2024) and the IV edition of the SEMILLERU Lab. The FICXPlus programme will be expanding exponentially and we will also improve our FICX For Kidz Programme of film literacy activities, including a new European network educational project. FICX the Networks! is also developing new partnerships including cash awards for European films + attendance to the Cannes Market Producers Club as Guests of Honor. Plans for the creation of new audiences and for sustainability (SDGs) are in force since 2020 (an Eco Manager has entered office in Oct. 2024)
