Description
Description | Turkey’s Energy Market Regulatory Authority, EMRA, granted permit to STEAG GmbH to develop a 66MW onshore wind power generating facility in Suloglu, Turkey. The total cost of the Soluglu wind farm was estimated at USD 123 million. The project reached financial closure in October 2014 with a debt equity ratio of 65/35. Construction phase began in September 2014 and start of commercial operations is scheduled for October 2015. Vestas supplied 20 V126-3.3 MW wind turbines for the project. Turkey’s national transmission company is required to provide grid connections to all renewable power projects. Wind developers in Turkey are qualified for a fixed feed-in tariff or they can sell the electricity generated on the free market and achieve a higher return than would be available with the fixed tariff. |
