80 Years of IFLRY : The Future of Liberal Youth Leadership

IFLRY was first officially established at a meeting in in 1947 under the name of the World Federation of Liberal and Radical Youth (WFLRY). Since then, many young liberals from around the globe have been trained, participated and shaped the organisation. Sharing values and beliefs which unite the young liberals, democrats, radicals, centrists and libertarians who are members of the International Federation of Liberal Youth. In 2027, IFLRY will celebrate its 80th anniversary of creation. Even when global, IFLRY posses a strong sense of European values bringing to the global scene in promoting democracy, rule of law and human rights. With this agreement, IFLRY wants to celebrate but also reflect on the current times where democratic values around the globe are contested. With this work plan, IFLRY wants to impact more than 40 European member organisations, contribute with the promotion of the European Youth Goals, and the EU youth strategy 2019-2027 while continue globalising freedom. By the end of the workplan, During 2026 IFLRY will celebrate a series of political education workshops dedicated to strengthen leadership for young people while promoting democratic values and finally in 2027 we will celebrate our 80th General Assembly remembering the past, understanding the difficulties of the present and rethinking about the future.
