8th Street Fountain Creek Bridge Repair and Traffic Shift

The project involves repairing the 75-year-old Fountain Creek bridge on 8th Street in Colorado Springs. The current phase includes closing the west side of the bridge for repairs, rehabilitating the bridge deck, and repairing the sidewalk on the west side. The bridge will open in its new final configuration next month with two through lanes in each direction and a third northbound lane feeding into the eastbound frontage road to U.S. Highway 24. Additional work includes replacing a water main, installing sidewalks and curbs south of the bridge, and stormwater upgrades to prevent flash flooding.
