A Plus Cinema’s main objective, working together with MEDIA, has remained the same over the course of the last decade – sustain a level of our business which allows us to participate in the process of bringing a diverse range of films to the Bulgarian market. Despite the hard times, result of COVID-19, ever growing piracy (due to more films releasing too soon on VOD somewhere around the World) and change of ownership, the company remains committed to the main objective by way of negotiating new deals and distributing, first and foremost, theatrically in all instances where theatrical release is still well justified. COVID-19 also accelerated the transition to straight-to-VOD releases or shortening the window after theatrical distribution. With official recognition of such releases we will be carefully considering the option of day & date or VOD exclusive premieres in order to give each film the best possible chance of reaching its audience. Even though personnel costs are not recognized as official expenses, people working on this project are benefitting from the continuing partnership with MEDIA as it provides much needed support when forecasting the company’s imminent future. Other than that, local vendors are benefitting from the funds as we need services such as translation and localization of feature files and marketing materials, purchase of advertising space, PR expertise, etc. As always the funds will be used as best deemed fit to support the acquisition and distribution of one or more films.
