Description

Description

In recent years, politicians and people have become aware of the risks and consequences of global warming on their environment. This global warming has a double consequence in mountain areas where winter tourist resorts need to redefine their business model to survive while complying with energy consumption regulations in buildings. The owners of tourist establishments are therefore faced with a dual challenge: (1) thermally renovate buildings to take account of new energy and environmental standards and (2) adapt the use of these buildings to meet diversification of activities, particularly in winter. Redefining the Alpine tourism model is an important challenge to be overcome in order to maintain a local economic fabric. In Switzerland, construction companies have seen their potential to increase as a result of the law on secondary residences, limiting the construction of new secondary houses in mountain areas. This project aims to support the construction economy in the Alpine region, in order to be able to adapt to the constraints of the energy transition and the constraints of protecting the landscape by creating a partnership between owner, contracting authority, manager and “pools of entrepreneurs”.
