Description

Description

Taking into consideration that the awarded first project was a first step to build a strong national network with different tools that are available to the magistrates and court staff, the partners would like to go a step further with this follow-up project which should cover the subsequent period from March 2021 to february 2023 and make the results of the first one sustainable, more efficient and useful for all the Belgian judiciary. It is meant to consolidate and improve the network of Euro-coordinators (judges and court-staff) that was created in each court. We want to work on the further development and maintenance of the Belgian website dedicated to European law, by keeping up to date the database, the EU legislation and the national implementing legislation, texts of training (also e-learning), and to remedy to all difficulties (uploading, coding of the decisions, anonymization, search engine, key words). Complementary, we want to add short abstracts of case law and translation into English. Efforts will be made in order to promote the use of the discussion platform for judges and court staff. We will repeat the one day conference for the official presentation of the website, database, platform and the network of court coordinators for all who couldn’t attend the first one and provide online training sessions for the familiarisation of these tools. In order to give a new impulsion, we want to organise a two-days European seminar on the Regulation Brussels IIa recast and on cooperation in cross-border parental responsibility cases and edit a bilingual manual and e-book (Fr-Dutch) as a report of that event. We expect the members of the network to become efficient in the exchange of information and the answering of questions on the EU instruments and to make all judicial actors become familiar with the network and use the tools daily. We will dispose of reliable statistical data and give a serious impulsion to the judicial cooperation between MS.
