Description
Description | After a long-term partnership, the “Salaško Pozorište” in its Hungarian name “Tanyaszínház”caravan theatre from Novi Sad ( having its house in Kavilló) and the “Deszka” (Deck) from Deszk have decided to jointly travel around the border area. Their aim is to take culture, theatre and art into villages and the rural area, to places where people do not have access to such entertainment. Since 1978, the “Tanyaszínház” caravan theatre has been trying to fill this gap among the Hungarians in Vojvodina by travelling around the area in a tractor trailer with the stage, props and actors on it. During the first four months of the project, the plays will be staged and promoted. In the following two months, the companies will perform all over the area. Finally, the project ends with an International Amateur and Caravan Theatre Festival held in Deszk near the Hungarian-Serbian-Romanian tri-point. Thanks to the project Serbian actors will perform for the first time in Serbian-speaking villages in Hungary, and Hungarian actors will stage plays from the homeland in Hungarian-speaking villages in Vojvodina. The stops of the seven-month project cover the entire area. These 14 destinations include the scattered Hungarian settlements in Serbia, as well as the Serbian-speaking communities in Hungary. Simultaneous translation headsets will be provided, so the plays being bilingual will be enjoyable for both Hungarian and Serbian speakers. This shared experience would bound people, deepen the relationships and pave the way for further cooperation. The events are available for everyone; the elderly, the unemployed, the children can all enjoy the plays in their mother tongue. Theatre is brought to these disadvantageous people to their immediate vicinity where otherwise they are not able to go since the big city theatres are far from their home. |
