The project involves the development of the A25 highway under public private paternship (PPP) in Montreal, Québec, Canada. The private sector contractor, Concession A25, is responsible for the Design, Build, Finance, Operate, and Maintain (DBFOM) of the Project over a 35 year period.The four-lane highway includes interchanges, overpasses, and a 1.2km bridge across Rivière des Prairies. The bridge is comprised of six lanes of traffic (three in each direction), and a multifunctional path to enable pedestrians and cyclists to cross freely. The A25 Highway Project also incorporates preferential measures for public transit, such as reserved bus lanes in Laval and Montréal. An electronic toll system is in place for users of the bridge only. The A25 Highway Project was the first transportation PPP in Québec and the first electronic tolling system in the province.
