Description

Description

The project involves the full acquisition and operation of the A63 motorway concession in southwest France by Abertis, through which the company has increased its stake from a majority share to 100% ownership of the concessionaire (Atlandes). The A63 is a 104–105 km dual cross-lane toll motorway connecting Salles to Saint-Geours-de-Maremne and forming a strategic transport corridor between Bordeaux and the Spanish border, widely used by passenger and freight traffic. Under the concession agreement (running until around 2051), the project entails the financing, operation, maintenance, and management of the motorway infrastructure, ensuring service quality and traffic flow while generating revenues primarily through toll collection. The project also comprised the construction of two cross-lane toll barriers and parking facilities for 1,200 heavy goods vehicles (HGVs). The A63 project is part of the trans-European network and will sustain trade flows between the Iberian Peninsula and northern Europe.
