A9 Dualling Programme from Perth to Inverness

The A9 trunk road is the main route that connects central Scotland and the Highlands stretching from Dunblane situated north of Stirling, and travels north bypassing Perth and Inverness before finishing in Thurso. The existing route consists of single and dual carriageways with varying speed limits. Transport Scotland has issued a prior information notice (PIN) for a £100m construction contract for a 9.5km section between Luncarty to the Pass of Birnam. Design work is continuing for the remainder of the route between Perth and Inverness with a series of public exhibitions for consultation on preferred routes for the 24km Dalraddy to Slochd section, and the 16km Crubenmore to Kincraig section.
