Abegweit First Nation Rte 2 Highway Upgrades

The project consists of upgrades and support infrastructure along Route 2, in conjunction with a reduced speed limit which should encourage lower vehicle speeds for Route 2 traffic within the community and enhance safety for pedestrians/cyclists. Project works will include constructing raised gateway median islands (170m2) along Route 2 at each end of the community to help signal a reduced speed limit. This will also include related items and support infrastructure such as asphalt resurfacing (11,600m2), storm sewer (330m),concrete curb (755m), guide rail (490m), and lighting along Route 2. The project will also include replacing or upsizing of several existing culverts under roadways, driveways, and the Confederation Trail.
