This project will connect existing operations to the soon-to-be-finished fire training burn building. The project involves extending the road from the current Parks and Recreation and police operations area to the burn building. The burn building was funded by a $485,000 grant from the Virginia Department of Fire Programs. The access road project had been delayed due to unfavorable bids over several years. The city council authorized a change order with MB Con Construction Co. Inc., the contractor building the burn building, to complete the access road as well. |
