Description | The Chiripa wind project was a planned 49.5 MW wind generation facility to be located in Costa Rica. The project was to be designed, developed and operated by a consortium comprised of the Spanish firm Acciona and local firm Grupo Ecoenergia, with respectively 65% and 35% stakes in the project. Acciona was to provide 33 of its 1.5 MW turbines for its Chiripa wind farm. The project was awarded a 20 year PPA to sell power on a build, operate and transfer basis by the state utility Instituto Costarricense de Energia. Projected investment was USD 125 Million.
