Description | Acciona Energia has reached a deal to sell a massive portfolio of operational solar and wind assets in the US and Mexico to asset manager Mexico Infrastructure Partners (MIP) for an equity value of $1bn. The Spanish utility will sell a 49% stake in its 1.3GW solar portfolio in the US across Texas, Illinois, and Ohio, retaining a 51% majority stake and continuing to operate and manage the PV arrays. It will also sell the full stake in two wind farms in Mexico with a combined capacity of 321MW – the 183MW El Cortijo and the 138MW Santa Cruz arrays. The transaction is expected to close in the first half of next year, pending regulatory approval. |
